I had given some attention to an old project for an old game server that is no longer online.

I had added:

• 2 new sql(lite3) queries
• a python script
• some edits to a C program

The database pertains to racing in a video game. For a given map, a player can have a score and a velocity; the server only tracks the best 'n' records and the highest velocity.

I had read of the case of Hannah Poling, a girl whose family in 2010 filed an autism claim in "federal vaccine court" and won.

For years, federal health agencies and professional organizations had reassured the public that vaccines didn't cause autism. Now, with DHHS making this concession in a federal claims court, the government appeared to be saying exactly the opposite. "Vaccines cause autism" is a claim that is heavily antagonized by The Mainstream as "anti-science" or "misinformation". A cursory search on a mainstream search engine often leads to headlines that cites a doctor whose license has been revoked but doesn't address the entire breadth or depth of suspicions. I had my results change drastically when "heavy metals" were added to the keywords.

The shirts given out at LayerOne had two variations. The staff shirts were green while the attendee shirts were dark blue. The graphic design on the shirts have a sequence in hex which can be decoded into a message that was part of a game within the event.

When asked about the hex sequence, the staff will generally say, the codes are the same or that the shirts are the same except for the colors which is correct but not in the way they expected.

This year's badge was a programmed fidget spinner with a row of lights. When spun, the lights would display text such as "HACK THE PLANET" depending on the mode set by pressing the button. However, the middle part had to be broken off, and I wanted to keep the whole thing intact.

The third sentence is an odd phrase that doesn't follow the general rule in that "ne ... pas" wraps around the verb ("faut"); instead, "faut mieux" is negated.

Another way to write "it's better not (to fall)" is

"il vaut mieux ne pas (tomber)".

In this case, the infinitive is just negated with "ne...pas" preceding it.
